AT SHRI PURANDARA ASHRAMA
Shri Purandara Vittala Seva Trust is happy to announce Shrimad Harikathamrutasara Parayana Yagna to commemorate the 200th Aradhana Celebrations of the Great Haridasa Shri Jagannatha Dasaru and in connection with the Pratisthapana Mahotsava of Shri Hari-Vayu-Gurugalu at Shri Purandara Ashrama.
Details of Parayana Yagna are as follows:
Shri Karjigi Dasappa Dasaru (Shri Shrida Vittalaru) in Shri Harikathamrutasara Phalastuti Sandhi says,
akkaradoLI kAvyadoLu oMdakkarava baredOdidava,
dEvarkaLiM dustyajanenisi-dharmArthakAmagaLa lekkisade-
lOkaikanAthana Bakti BAgyava paDeva,
jIvanmuktagallade harikathAmRutasAra sogasuvade? || 16 ||
The one who writes and recites just one letter ('akshara') of magnum-opus Shrimad Harikathamrutasara with utmost bhakti & discipline (akkara) is unrejectable by Devatas - such a person wouldn't care for Chaturavidha Purusharthas since that person achieves the invaluable treasure called 'Bhakti' towards Shri Lokaikanatha. Further Dasaru asks, "Can anyone else enjoy this grantha to the extent of what a Jivan-Mukta would enjoy?" He himself answers by saying NO. The intent in Shri Dasappa Dasara vakya is, "if Shri Harikathamrutasara is highly regarded & accepted by Jivan-Muktas, then what to say about ordinary mortals like us".
In line with this Dasokti, Shri Purandara Vittala Seva Trust invites all Hari-bhaktas to utilize this GOD sent Opportunity by participating in Shrimad Harikathamrutasara Parayana Yagna.
Every Hari-bhakta can do the parayana in one of the following 3 formats:
a. Entire Shri Harikathamrutasara including Phala-stuti of Shri Karijigi Dasaru (may recite other phala-stuti's too)
- Start with Shri MangalacharaNa Sandhi
- Recite entire Shri Harikathamrutasara including Phalastuti(s)
- Recite Shri MangalacharaNa Sandhi again
This completes one cycle. You can recite Shri HKS for any No. of cycles till 10th June, 2010
b. Any one Sandhi of Choice of Shri Harikathamrutasara
- Start with Shri MangalacharaNa Sandhi
- Recite ishtartha Sandhi
- Recite Shri MangalacharaNa Sandhi again
This completes one cycle. You can recite Shri HKS for any No. of cycles till 10th June, 2010
c. Any one padya of any Sandhi of Shri Harikathamrutasara - The ishtartha padya should be recited at least 12 times
- Start with MangalacharaNa Sandhi
- Recite first padya of the Sandhi to which ishtartha Padya, then ishtartha Padya for at least 12 times, then antya padya of the Sandhi to which ishtartha Padya belongs to.
- Recite Shri MangalacharaNa Sandhi again
This completes one cycle. You can recite Shri HKS for any no. of cycles till 10th June, 2010
Note: In format (c), if ishtartha padya happens to be from Shri MangalacharaNa Sandhi, the MangalacharaNa Sandhi should be recited in full first before ishtartha padya, followed by recitation of ishtartha padya at least for 12 times and then MangalacharaNa Sandhi again.

The samarpana of Shri Harikathamrutasara Parayana Yagna to Shri Hari-Vayu-Gurugalu will be on 10th June, 2010 (Pratisthapana Mahotsava Day) in the august presence of Shri Hari-Vayu-GurugaLu. We request all the Hari-Bhaktas to participate in person in these celebrations and invoke the blessings of Shri Hari-Vayu-GurugaLu.
