PILGRIMAGE CENTERS AROUND SHRI PURANDARA ASHRAMA

 

 

Shri Purandara Ashrama holy shrine is located just 24 km from Mantralayam and 27 km from Adavani on Adavani (Yadavagiri) - Madhavaram – Raichur – Mantralayam Highway.

 

The Ashram is surrounded by more than 12 pilgrim centers which are must-visit centers:

 

  1. Manthralaya Kshetra : The abode of Shri Raghavendra Teertha is 24 kms from Ashrama.

  2. Ibharampura Kshetra : This kshetra is about 6 kms from Manthralaya and about 30 kms from Ashrama. It is the abode of a great jnAni Shri Krishnacharya popularly known as Shri Ibharamapura Appavaru.

  3. Panchamukhi Mukhya PraNa Kshetra : This is the tapah-siddhi kshethra of  Shri Raghavendra Swamy.  This place is about 30 kms from Ashrama.

  4. Ele bichhale (Bhikshalaya) Kshetra: This sacred kshethra located on the bank of Tungabhadra river has divine presence of Shri Hari-Vayu-Guru's. This is also the birth place and tapas siddhi kshethra of  Shri Appannacharya, a great devotee of  Shri Raghavendra Swamy. Shri Raghavendra Swamy lived here for some period and invigorated the spiritual atmosphere through his jnAna karya. Shri Shripadaraja installed the deity of Shri Ashwattha Narasimha and Shri Vyasaraja installed the deity of Shri Mukhya PraNa here.  This kshetra has the (mruttika) brindavana of Shri Raghavendra Swamy.

  5. Basaladoddi Kshetra: This kshetra just 2 km away from Ashrama has Shri Mukhya PraNa idol installed by Shri Vyasaraja.

  6. Chinnathumbala Kshetra: This kshetra just about 1.5 km from Ashrama is the abode of Shri Lakshmi Narasimha.  It is considered to have been installed by Shri Bhrigu Rushi or a sage Shri Bhargavi Rushi.

  7. Kosigi:  This kshetra is about 16 kms from Ashrama. This is the birth place of Shri Guru Jagannatha Dasa, an ardent devotee of Shri Raghavendra Teertha, and considered an amsha sambhuta of Shri Appannacharya.  This kshetra has Shri Mukhya PraNa idol installed and worshipped by Shri Guru Jagannatha Dasa

  8. Kamavara Kshethra: This kshetra is about 22 kms. from Ashrama.  This kshetra has Shri Mukhya PraNa installed and worshipped by Shri Gopala Dasa.

  9. Kauthala (Kavithala) Kshetra: This kshetra is about 30 kms. from Ashrama.  This kshetra has Mrutthika Brindavana of  Shri Raghavendra Teertha installed by Shri Guru Jagannatha Dasa.  This kshetra also has age old Shri Channakeshava temple, brindavana of avadhuta and great jnAni Shri Rangaiah and Shri Mukhya PraNa installed Shri Rangaiah.

  10. Budamala Doddi kshethra:  This kshetra is about 25 kms. from Ashrama.  This kshetra has Shri Mukhya PraNa idol installed by Shri Vyasaraja.  Shri Mukhya PraNa is known as palikedevudu (in telugu which means - God who talks).

  11. Yadavagiri Kshethra (Adoni/Adavani): This great land made sacred by Seethapathi Shree Ramachandra's samchara is located  27 km from Ashrama.  This kshetra has special sannidhana of Shri Hari-Vayu-Guru's.  It is said that Shri Vyasaraja installed close to about 200 Shri Mukhya PraNa idols around this place.  Shri RaNa Mandala Mukhya PraNa and Shri Mangarayakote are two such kshetras where Shri Vyasaraja installed Shri Mukhya PraNa.  Shri Vijaya Raya stayed at Adoni  for almost 12 years before moving to chippagiri.  He bestowed ankita nama to Shri Bhaganna Dasa (as Shri Gopala Vittala) and Shri Panganama Timmanna Dasa (as Shri Venu Gopala Vittala).  The moola brindavana of great jnAni Shri Raghu Prema Teertha of Shri Kudli Arya Akshobhya Teertha and the temple of of Shri Seeta-Rama-Hanuma-Lakshmana installed by Shri Raghu Prema Teertha is present here.

  12. Holagunta Kshetra: This kshetra is about 30 kms from Ashrama.  This kshetra has Mrutthika Brindavana's of Shri Vijayeendra Teertha (Kumbhakonam) and Shri Raghavendra Teertha.

  13. Hatthibelagal Kshethra:  This kshetra is about 45 kms from Ashrama.  This kshetra has Shri Mukhya PraNa installed by Shri Raghavendra Teertha.  There are only 2 Mukhya PraNa idols installed by Shri Raghavendra Teertha and this is one of them.  Great erudite scholar Shri Narasimhacharya popularly known as Aralikatti Narasimhacharya lived here. He is considered an amsha-sambhuta of KarNa.  He is adhyAtma Guru of Shri Raghuprema Teertha.  This kshetra has katte (place where they left their mortal body) of Shri Aralikatte Narasimhacharya and his disciple Shri Bilvapathre Acharya.

  14. Chippagiri Kshethra (Bhaskara kshethra): This kshetra is about 65 kms. from Ashrama.  This land has gracious presence of Shri Mukhya PraNa, Shri Maha Rudra, Shri Vijayatheertha, Shri Vijaya Dasa katte, sannidhana of Shri Mohana Dasa.

  15. Kasapura: Situated 15 km from Chippagiri kshetra,  this kshethra has bhavya Shri Mukhya PraNa idol installed by Shri Vyasaraja. This kshetra is about 4 kms from Guntakal junction.

  16. In addition to these Kshetra's - Kalluru, Manavi and Cheekalaparavi are located about 70-80 kms from Ashrama.
