Purpose & Goal:

The purpose of  the Ashrama is to propogate the cream essence of haridasa sahithya in accordance with the preachings of AchArya Shri Madhva and his disciples - Shri TikAcharya, Shri Vadiraja, Shri Vyasaraja, Shri VijayIndra, Shri RaghUththama, Shri Raghavendra, Shri Madanuru Vishnu Teertha, et al. - and to help sAdhakas practise the cream essence of dAsya bhAva by rightly understanding the Isha karthruthva, pujyathva, bhOkthruthva, swAmithva. 

In a nutshell, the activities at the Ashrama will be conducted from Brahmi Muhurtha till Night-resting in accordance with the established norms and practices underlined in the haridasa sampradaya to facilitate Dharma-Karma for the participants with an ultimate goal to please "Lord Shri Hari" through His Men.

To achieve this goal an extent of 11.54 acres of land has been acquired for the establishment of “Shri Purandara Ashrama Shrine” and a “Haridasa Spiritual Center” under the auspicies of “Shri Purandara Vittala Seva Trust”, a registered Public Charitable Trust adjoining state highway of Adoni-Madhavaram-Raichur; Adoni-Madhavaram-Mantralayam at the A.P-Karnataka border surrounded by holy pilgrim centers like the “World Renowned Mantralayam”. This area of land is selected mainly because of its calm and serene atmosphere endowed with natural radiating waves of healthy and spiritual streams of thoughts.  This entire land was donated by Shri Harinarayana Vittala Dasa.

Shankusthapana:

"Shanku Sthapana” function for the entire project was carried out ceremoniously with all the grandeur by “H.H. Shri Shri 1008 Shri Sushameendra Teertha Swamiji”, the pontiff of Shri Raghavendra Swamy MaTa, Mantralayam on the auspicious day of “Shri Narasimha Jayanthi” (22nd May, 2005) by invoking the full blessings of The Celestial Powers for early completion of the Project in all respects.

H.H. Shri Shri 1008 Shri Vishvottama Teertha Swamiji, the Peetadhipati of "Latavya Chakravarti Bhavi-Sameera Shri Vadiraja MaTa" was kind enough to visit this place on 6th Dec, 2005 to bless the project.  Having fully satisfied with the location and its surroundings, Swamiji felt extremely happy and opined that this project would be a grand success even beyond the expected levels in serving the Almighty in all respects.

Pratisthapna:

Pratisthapana mahotsava was carried out ceremoniously will all the grandeur by "H.H.Shri Shri 1008 Shri Suyateendra Teertha Swamiji", the present pontiff of Shri Raghavendra Swamy MaTa, Mantralayam on 10th June, 2010.  The following deities were consecrated:

  1. An idol of Shri Prasanna Shrinivasa, the Lord of Seven Hills and Bhu Vykuntapathi.
  2. An idol of Nada Brahma Shri Panduranga Vittala
  3. An idol of Anna Brahma Udupi Shri Krishna
  4. Chakradhara Narayana
  5. Avataratrayopeta Shri Mukhyaprana
  6. Shri Raghavendra Guru Sarvabhowma in the form of Mruttika Brundavana
  7. Dasakula Shreshta-Sangeeta Pitamaha Shri Purandara Dasaru

Having created the spiritual presence of the above deities in the Ashrama, the following main activities are being taken up by Shri Purandara Vittala Seva Trust (Regd.) in order of preference:

  1. Collection and preservation of the entire Haridasa Literature.
  2. Propagation of Haridasa Literature in many languages, viz. English, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil & Marathi for the benefit of Mankind as a whole by a team of  educated and highly capable scholars.
  3. Establishment of “Haridasa Sahithya (Literature) Study Center” and also aVidya Peeta.

Phase 2 :

In the second and following stages, Old Age Homes & Cottages for visiting Hari Bhakthas will be established. Facilities to perform rituals like Marriage, Upanayana, Apara Karma, etc. will also be provided.
